Best heat gun for resin art: popping bubbles without damage
Picked from Amazon listings, not hands-on tests. How we pick
Surface bubbles in epoxy keep rising for a while after the pour, and resin makers suggest a quick pass of a heat gun or a torch to pop them. You do not strictly need either: warm bottles, slow stirring, a rest in the cup and a toothpick deal with many bubbles in small pieces. For trays, coasters and tumblers a mini heat gun is the common tool. What differs between them is power (the minis here are 350 to 380 W), the stated temperature settings, the airflow and the nozzles in the box. Airflow matters as much as heat: a strong stream ripples the surface and pushes pigment around, so a low setting with a stated flow rate is worth having. Heat can also harm silicone molds, and some mold listings advise against a torch or heat gun on the mold itself, so keep passes short and moving. On heat gun vs torch: makers suggest either over epoxy, but sources differ on open flame over UV resin, so check the resin maker's instructions first. This guide compares six heat guns by what their listings state; nothing here was tested by us.

The picks in detail

Pick 1 · LET'S RESIN
LET'S RESIN 350W dual temp heat gun for resin
See price on AmazonA 350 W pen-style heat gun sold for resin, with two settings: 482 F at 150 L/min and 752 F at 350 L/min. One of two minis here that state the airflow for each setting.
What the listing offers
- Both settings are fully specified: level I is 482 F (250 C) at 150 L/min, level II is 752 F (400 C) at 350 L/min.
- Listing names removing resin bubbles and blowing ocean waves as uses and describes deflector, reflector and round nozzles.
- Built-in overheat protection, silicone covers and a 4.9 ft cable are stated.
Limits to know
- Listing notes there may be some noise during use, which it puts down to the power of the heat gun.
- Nozzle count is unclear: the text says two different nozzles but then names three types.

Pick 2 · Resiners
Resiners 350W mini heat gun for resin bubbles
See price on AmazonA 350 W mini heat gun sold for resin bubbles, with 482 F and 662 F settings and three nozzles. Its top setting is the lowest of the dual temp minis here, a narrower heat range for craft work.
What the listing offers
- Two stated temperatures, 482 F (250 C) and 662 F (350 C), and the listing names removing resin bubbles and creating ocean waves.
- Three nozzles are included: round, reflector and deflector.
- Overheat protection, an integrated stand, three silicone finger covers for changing nozzles and a 4.9 ft power cord are stated.
Limits to know
- No airflow figure is given for either setting, so its air stream cannot be compared with the others.
- Two fixed temperatures only; there is no dial for settings in between.

Pick 3 · Yeegewin
YEEGEWIN 380W mini heat gun, 480 F and 850 F
See price on AmazonA 380 W mini heat gun with a gentle low setting (480 F at 100 L/min) and a strong high setting (850 F at 500 L/min). The low setting has the lowest stated airflow in this guide.
What the listing offers
- Both settings are stated with airflow: I is 480 F at 100 L/min, II is 850 F at 500 L/min.
- Listing states UL safety certification and built-in overheat protection that cuts the circuit.
- A built-in bracket for hands-free standing, a 4.9 ft power cord and a PA6 with 30% GF shell are stated.
Limits to know
- Listing warns of smoke and a burning odour on first use, which it explains as an anti-rust coating on the heating core.
- Only one nozzle, a reflector, is included, and the title pitches it for DIY and crafts in general, not resin by name.

Pick 4 · SEEKONE
SEEKONE HG350 350W mini heat gun, 500 F and 842 F
See price on AmazonA 350 W mini heat gun with 500 F and 842 F settings, overheat protection and a retractable stand. A general craft and repair tool: the listing leans toward heat shrink and 3D printing work, not resin.
What the listing offers
- Dual temperature mode is stated as 500 F (260 C) and 842 F (450 C).
- Built-in overheat protection cuts off the current automatically, and a nozzle safety shield is fitted.
- Compact body with a retractable stand; one nozzle and a user manual are in the package.
Limits to know
- The listing does not mention resin: its named uses are heat shrinking, 3D printing, shrink wrapping and minor repairs.
- No airflow figure is stated, and the 500 F low setting is the hottest low setting among the minis here.

Pick 5 · SEEKONE
SEEKONE 1800W variable temp heat gun, 122-1202 F
See price on AmazonA full-size 1800 W heat gun with a temperature dial from 122 F to 1202 F and two airflow modes. The only pick with a dial instead of two fixed settings; far more powerful than the minis, so it suits large surfaces, not small molds.
What the listing offers
- Variable temperature by dial, which the listing contrasts with dual temperature guns; the title gives 122 F to 1202 F.
- Two modes are stated: I is 50 to 450 C at 190 to 210 L/min, II is 50 to 650 C at 250 to 500 L/min.
- Four nozzles are included: a deflector, two concentrators and a reflector.
Limits to know
- Full-size tool: even mode I moves 190 to 210 L/min, more air than the low settings of the minis that state a figure.
- The listing does not name resin; it is sold for crafts, shrink wrap, heat shrink tube and 3D printing.

Pick 6 · CALPALMY
CALPALMY bubble removing heat tool for resin
See price on AmazonA slim craft heat tool sold as a bubble remover for epoxy resin and tumblers. The listing gives one figure, up to 200 C, well below the settings of the 350 W guns, and limits each run to under 3 minutes.
What the listing offers
- Listing says it heats up in seconds and reaches up to 200 C, a lower temperature than the other picks state.
- A retractable stainless steel stand is built in for hands-free operation.
- Stated size is 8.8 inches long and 1.8 inches wide for one-hand use, and removing bubbles from resin is a named use.
Limits to know
- Listing cautions that working time is less than 3 minutes, because the plastic parts may melt beyond that.
- No wattage, airflow or temperature settings are stated, and the listing says to always hold it at a 45 degree angle.
