Best pressure pot for resin casting: sizes, PSI and setup
Picked from Amazon listings, not hands-on tests. How we pick
A pressure pot does not take bubbles out of resin: it shrinks them until they are invisible while the piece cures, which is why dice, pen blanks and miniatures are cast under pressure. How much psi for resin casting? Resin makers give 40 to 60 psi, and Smooth-On says 60 psi until the resin gels. Pots sold for casting are commonly rated 60 psi working with an 80 psi relief valve. That makes the stated rating the first thing to compare, and listings vary: some give a maximum and an operating pressure, some one figure, some none. Many pots on Amazon are paint tanks whose listings also mention resin, so this guide says plainly how each one is sold. The safety rules are short: use only a pot rated for the pressure, never go above its rating, never use a homemade vessel. Molds for pressure casting are made under pressure too. A pot is one of the larger purchases in resin casting and it needs an air compressor. This guide compares five pots by capacity, stated pressure and lid; nothing here was tested by us.

The picks in detail

Pick 1 · California Air Tools
California Air Tools 255C casting pot, 2.5 gal
See price on AmazonA 2.5 gallon coated steel pot sold specifically for epoxy resin casting, with a stated maximum pressure of 80 psi and an operating pressure of 60 psi. The clearest pressure statement of the five.
What the listing offers
- Listing states a maximum pressure of 80 psi and an operating pressure of 60 psi.
- Includes an input connector, regulator, on/off ball valve and pressure relief valve, per the listing.
- Internal dimensions are given as 9 1/4 in wide x 10 in deep; the pot weighs 22 pounds and stands on rubber feet.
Limits to know
- 2.5 gallons with a 9 1/4 inch wide interior limits the mold size; larger molds will not fit.
- The listing text does not describe how the lid clamps down or seals.

Pick 2 · TCP Global
TCP Global 2.5 gal steel pressure pot for resin
See price on AmazonA 2.5 gallon powder-coated steel pot sold for resin casting that the listing says maintains constant pressure up to 50 psi. That is inside the 40 to 60 psi range resin makers give, but below 60 psi.
What the listing offers
- Listing states it maintains constant pressure up to 50 psi, with a regulator and a 0 to 100 psi gauge.
- Airtight gasket clamp-on lid with an air inlet valve, pressure relief valve and release valve.
- Interior is stated as 9.35 in diameter and 10.15 in depth, and four removable caster wheels are included.
Limits to know
- The stated limit is 50 psi, so a resin whose maker asks for 60 psi is outside what this listing rates the pot for.
- The relief valve setting is not stated, and the same listing also describes the pot as a paint pot for spray use.

Pick 3 · VEVOR
VEVOR heavy duty steel pressure pot, 5.3 gal
See price on AmazonA 5.3 gallon steel pot the listing describes for pouring work and bubble-free pieces, the largest pick here. It states 0.55 MPa/80 psi applied pressure and a safety valve that releases air above 0.5 MPa.
What the listing offers
- 5.3 gallon (20 L) capacity with a large-diameter tank, for bigger molds or several molds at once.
- A manual nut lock secures the tank without tools, and the listing says it maintains stable pressure throughout curing.
- Adjustable pressure knob, real-time gauge, safety valve, additional sealant and four detachable swivel casters are stated.
Limits to know
- Two pressure figures appear: 0.55 MPa/80 psi applied and a valve releasing above 0.5 MPa. Confirm the rated pressure on the pot before use.
- The listing speaks of pouring and DIY art pieces but does not use the words resin casting, and the air compressor is not included.

Pick 4 · VEVOR
VEVOR 2.5 gal paint pressure pot, 70 psi max
See price on AmazonA 2.5 gallon spray paint pressure tank whose listing also covers resin crafting: close the exhaust valve and connect an air compressor. Stated maximum is 70 psi with an optimal range of 50 to 55 psi.
What the listing offers
- Listing states a maximum of 70 psi and an optimal pressure range of 50 to 55 psi, set with a rotary knob.
- Dual-valve design that the listing says serves both resin crafting and spray painting; the title adds a metal rack and sealant.
- Four-way locking latches, rubber seals and a safety valve that relieves pressure automatically are stated.
Limits to know
- Sold first as a spray paint tank, with a 3/8 in fluid outlet for spray guns; resin use is the secondary mention.
- No interior dimensions are given, so mold fit has to be judged from the 10 L capacity alone.

Pick 5 · Blulu
Blulu 2.5 gal steel paint pressure pot tank
See price on AmazonA 2.5 gallon solid steel paint pressure tank whose title says it is suitable for epoxy resin casting. The listing text available here gives no maximum or working pressure, the detail a casting buyer needs most.
What the listing offers
- Title and first bullet name resin use: a paint pressure pot for resin making that can also be applied for spray painting.
- Fluid pressure regulator with pressure gauge, input connector, on/off ball valve and pressure relief valve are listed.
- Clip-on lid with a gasket; air inlet and outlet ports are about 1/4 inch and the fluid outlet about 3/8 inch.
Limits to know
- No pressure rating appears in the title or the listing text available here; check the rating marked on the pot or in its manual before any casting use.
- Most of the listing is about paint: automotive coatings, latex paints, varnishes and large-volume spraying.
