Best resin molds for preserving flowers: blocks, spheres and trays
Picked from Amazon listings, not hands-on tests. How we pick
Preserving a bouquet or pressed flowers in resin starts with the mold, because its depth decides which resin you need and how many layers you pour. By maker data, coating resin goes on about 1/8 inch at a time, casting epoxy up to about 3/8 inch per layer and deep pour epoxy 1 to 2 inches per layer (the label decides). A 2 inch deep block for whole blooms therefore means deep pour resin or several thinner layers, while a 1/2 inch tray suits pressed flowers and thin pours. Pouring deeper than the resin is rated for builds heat, which brings bubbles, cracks and yellowing. The molds here differ in shape (blocks, a hexagon, an arch, spheres, bookends, a tray), in cavity size and in whether the listing states how much resin a cavity takes. Where it does not, work the volume out from the dimensions with the resin calculator on this site. Dry the flowers completely first: moisture in them turns the cast cloudy. This guide compares seven silicone resin molds for flowers by what their listings state; nothing here was tested by us.

The picks in detail

Pick 1 · LET'S RESIN
LET'S RESIN deep flower mold set, 8 pieces
See price on AmazonEight silicone molds in one set: a large hexagon, square and heart about 1.8 to 2 inches deep plus five small shapes. The widest spread of block shapes here, for a bouquet split across several keepsakes.
What the listing offers
- Sizes and resin amounts are listed: hexagon 9.06 x 7.87 x 1.97 in (approx 60 oz), square 5.71 x 5.71 x 1.97 in (37 oz), heart 6.3 x 5.51 x 1.77 in (28 oz).
- Five small molds in sphere, cube, pyramid and rectangle shapes are included for single blooms and petals.
- The listing describes glossy interiors and says the molds are compatible with casting resin and epoxy resin.
Limits to know
- The listing says the molds are not for coating resin and recommends pouring in layers or using deep pour resin.
- Filling all three large molds takes about 125 oz of resin by the listing's own figures, a lot for a first project.

Pick 2 · KISREL
KISREL rectangular resin block molds, set of 3
See price on AmazonThree rectangular silicone molds: one 2 inch deep block for whole flowers and two 0.8 inch deep slabs for pressed flowers. The listing states the resin amount for each size.
What the listing offers
- Sizes and resin amounts are stated: 9.8 x 6.7 x 2 in (56.8 oz), 7.7 x 4.5 x 0.8 in (14 oz) and 6.5 x 4.5 x 0.8 in (10 oz).
- Two depths in one set, so the same purchase covers a deep bouquet block and shallow pressed-flower pieces.
- Listing says the molds suit most resins and other casting materials such as plaster, wax and soap.
Limits to know
- Plain rectangles only: no heart, hexagon or sphere for a more decorative keepsake.
- No pouring guidance in the listing: it does not name a resin type or layer depth for the 2 inch deep mold.

Pick 3 · ResinWorld
ResinWorld 10 inch arch mold, 3 inches deep
See price on AmazonA single large arch mold, listed as a 10 inch arch 3 inches deep, the deepest cavity in this guide. Meant for a whole bouquet in one block; at that depth it calls for deep pour resin in more than one layer.
What the listing offers
- Listing states a reinforced edge, so no wooden frame is needed and the edges are not easily squeezed or deformed.
- 3 inches deep, which the listing says is enough to hold large bouquet flowers or other fillers.
- Described as thick silicone with a shiny surface that gives the finished piece a mirror effect.
Limits to know
- Only the 10 inch size and 3 inch depth are given: no width and no resin amount, so the volume has to be estimated.
- 3 inches is deeper than the 1 to 2 inches per layer that deep pour resins are rated for, so plan on layers.

Pick 4 · LET'S RESIN
LET'S RESIN one-piece sphere molds, set of 9
See price on AmazonNine one-piece sphere molds from about 1 inch to 3.15 inches across. Suited to single blooms, buds and petals, not a whole bouquet; the largest sphere takes 8.8 oz of resin by the listing.
What the listing offers
- One-piece design: the listing says the ball comes out with no seam in the middle, so taping and sanding a join is not needed.
- Sizes and resin amounts are listed, including 3.15 in (8.8 oz), 2.56 in (4.5 oz), 2.16 in (2.7 oz) and 1.8 in (1.4 oz).
- Glossy interiors, which the listing says give the finished sphere a shiny surface.
Limits to know
- Too small for a bouquet: the largest cavity is 3.15 inches across and several are close to 1 inch.
- Listing notes that air bubbles in these closed 3D molds have to be worked out with a wood stick.

Pick 5 · ZtohPyo
ZtohPyo 9 inch deep hexagon mold with 3 test tubes
See price on AmazonA deep hexagon block mold, 9 x 8 x 2 inches, sold with three test tubes so the finished block can also hold stems as a vase. The listing puts the fill at approx 50 oz of clear epoxy resin.
What the listing offers
- Size and resin amount are stated: 9 x 8 x 2 inches, approx 50 oz of clear epoxy resin to fill.
- Three test tubes are included for casting a hydroponic planter or floral display block.
- Listing recommends pouring in layers, or splitting the casting into several sessions, to help avoid the resin overheating.
Limits to know
- Listing says it is not recommended for coating resin, so it needs casting or deep pour resin.
- One shape and one size only, and the listing advises against using a torch or heater directly on the mold.

Pick 6 · LET'S RESIN
LET'S RESIN bookend resin molds, 1 pair
See price on AmazonA pair of quarter-circle bookend molds with a 5 x 4 x 2.6 inch inner size. Each bookend takes approx 26.54 oz of epoxy resin, and the listing names wedding bouquet preservation as a use.
What the listing offers
- Inner size and fill are stated: 5 x 4 x 2.6 inches, approx 26.54 oz of epoxy resin per bookend.
- Two molds in the pack, so a matching pair of bookends can be poured in the same session.
- Listing recommends pouring resin in layers and says the molds clean up with warm soapy water.
Limits to know
- A pair needs about 53 oz of resin by the listing's figure, and the 2.6 inch depth calls for layers.
- Listing says a torch or heat gun is not recommended because it may damage the molds, so surface bubbles need another method.

Pick 7 · ResinWorld
ResinWorld XL tray mold with handles, 14 x 9 in
See price on AmazonA shallow tray mold with handles: the finished tray measures 14 x 9 x 0.5 inches. The format for pressed flowers and petals laid flat, not for whole blooms.
What the listing offers
- Finished tray size is stated as 14 x 9 x 0.5 inches, with handles formed by the mold.
- Listing says it is compatible with most casting materials, naming epoxy resin, UV resin, plaster, gypsum and clay.
- Described as silicone with a shiny surface that gives the finished tray a mirror effect.
Limits to know
- Half an inch deep, so only pressed or flat-dried flowers fit; a whole rose or peony will not.
- No resin amount is stated; as a plain 14 x 9 x 0.5 inch rectangle it works out to about 63 cubic inches, roughly 35 fl oz.
Read before you buy
- Resin mold release substitutes: what works and what does notEpoxy does not stick to silicone, polyethylene or packing tape, so many molds need no release. Which substitutes sources back, and which they warn against.
- How to clean silicone resin molds and store themClean silicone resin molds by what is in them: tape for cured flakes, isopropyl alcohol for sticky resin, mild soapy water for glitter. Then store flat.
- Casting resin vs coating epoxy resin: depth, cure and usesCasting and coating resin are both epoxy. Compare depth per layer (1/8 in, 3/8 in, 1 to 2 in), working time, demold and full cure before you pour.
